A Community of Citizens Coming Together for Action.

“The meeting was productive and well attended.”

Change Comes to School Auditorium.

“Each of us attended all types of functions in this old auditorium.”

And what you see here is the renovation of the old Bladenboro High School auditorium.
It looks like a sad mess for the now Bladenboro Middle School, but when it’s done, it will be a badly needed resource in the community.
Thanks to Town Manager Delane Jackson, I was alerted
to the activity. “Ground that has not see the light of day since it was built [in the early 1920’s] is visible.”
Thanks to Delane Jackson, Johnny Anderson, Rhonda Griffin and Robert Hester for the story and the call to cover it.  See the story at http://www.bladenonline.com.
The old auditorium with the floor removed. Visible are the floor joists.
Sometimes all we have of value are our memories and depending on the generator, we can recall memories that we thought were long gone.
For me, I encountered a lot of things in the auditorium. I can remember numerous concerts, beauty pageants, and yes, I was guilty of running up and down the aisles on many occasions.
What are your memories of the old auditorium?
